Getting started
What TradeClip is, what the trial includes and how the first sign-in works.
TradeClip is a desktop app for traders. It watches the one window you choose, usually a chart, detects when a trade starts and ends from what is visible on screen, and saves a clip of each trade to your computer. You can then trim, lay out and export those clips, and optionally keep them in a searchable cloud library.
Everything about recording happens on your computer. Your account only uses the network to sign in, check your plan and licence, and count clips against your allowance.
Create an account on the website, verify your email address and complete your profile. Your free trial starts at that point, before you download anything.
Then download the desktop app, open it and choose Sign in. The app opens your browser so you sign in on the website, approve this computer, and the app receives its credentials without ever showing a password field of its own. Pick the window you want to record, grant the Screen Recording permission when macOS asks, and TradeClip is ready.
Try TradeClip for seven days with up to 10 clips. No card required. The 10 clips are a total for the trial, not a per-day amount.
The trial includes automatic per-trade recording, set-hours automation, visual broker-window detection, crash recovery, the cloud clip library and search by ticker, time and P&L, and one-click export. Every export made during the trial carries the TradeClip watermark, rendering runs locally and support is handled in the standard queue. Cloud rendering is available on paid plans.
When the 7 days end or the 10 clips are used, new captures stop until you subscribe. Clips you already recorded stay on your computer and can still be opened, edited and exported.
No. The trial is granted by TradeClip itself once your email is verified and your profile is complete. A payment card is only asked for when you choose Pro or Ultra, and it is entered on Stripe's checkout page, never on ours.
Windows x64 is available as an unsigned preview for Windows 10 version 2004 or newer and Windows 11. The runtime and video tools are bundled, and the installed app includes automatic updates. No Rust installation is needed.
The Mac target is Apple Silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 13 Ventura or newer. Mac download availability is shown on the download page when a release URL is published; check that release’s notes for its signing and notarization details.
No. Detection is visual: TradeClip reads the pixels of the window you selected. It never asks for broker credentials or API keys, never accesses a trading account and never places, changes or cancels an order.
Because the trade facts it shows (ticker, direction, times, profit or loss) are read from the screen, they can be incomplete or wrong. When a value cannot be read, the clip shows it as unknown rather than guessing, and you can correct it before you export.
The desktop app never shows its own password form. Signing in through the website keeps your password out of the app, lets the website handle verification links and bot checks, and means the app only ever holds short-lived credentials that it stores in your operating system's encrypted storage.
If your browser did not open, the app shows the address and a code so you can complete the approval from any browser on this computer and then return to the app.
02
Capture and broker-window support
What gets recorded, which windows work and the permissions macOS needs.
Any window on your screen can be recorded. Trade detection is tuned for TradingView and WealthCharts, where the ticker, direction, open and close times and the profit or loss shown on the chart are readable. TradingView works in its desktop app or in a browser. WealthCharts works in a browser, in an installed browser app, or in the iPad app on Apple-silicon Macs, and there the direction comes from the Limit and Stop bracket orders on the chart. On other windows TradeClip still records, but it may read fewer facts.
TradeClip is not affiliated with or endorsed by TradingView, WealthCharts or any broker. Recording another platform's window is your responsibility under that platform's terms.
Only the one window you select. In the default on-trade mode TradeClip starts writing video when it detects an entry and stops when the trade ends. In the optional rolling mode it keeps a short buffer on disk so a clip can begin a little before the entry.
Your microphone and webcam are recorded only if you grant those permissions and turn the tracks on. They are off by default, and camera and microphone content never leaves this computer unless you separately enable uploading it.
macOS does not let any app read the contents of another window without it. Without the permission TradeClip would record a black frame.
On first capture macOS asks for the permission. If you dismissed it, open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording (called Screen Recording on older versions) and enable TradeClip Capture. Relaunch TradeClip if it asks you to.
You choose the hours you trade, for example a market session, and TradeClip only watches for trades inside that window. Outside it nothing is recorded, so you do not have to remember to start or stop the app. Set-hours automation is included on the trial as well as on Pro and Ultra.
Video is written to disk in segments while a capture is running, so a crash loses at most the segment being written. When TradeClip starts again it recovers the finished segments into a clip and adds it to your library.
A recovered clip counts against your allowance only if it is successfully finalized as a unique capture, the same rule as any other clip. If the trade facts could not be read during recovery they are marked unknown for you to fill in.
Yes. TradeClip lists every window and display it can see, and capture follows the window you chose wherever it sits. If you move the window between displays during a trade the recording continues.
Open the clip and edit its details before you export. The values TradeClip reads are from the pixels on your screen, so a partly covered chart, an unusual layout or a currency symbol it did not expect can produce a wrong or missing value.
Trade facts are sent with clips only when you enable cloud sync or cloud rendering, and the figures are for your own records only; nothing TradeClip shows is financial advice.
03
Plans, quota and watermark
What counts as a clip, how allowances reset and which plans watermark exports.
One clip is successfully finalized unique capture: a recording of a trade that TradeClip finished writing and added to your library. It is counted once, at that moment.
Previewing, editing, trimming, re-rendering, re-exporting, downloading or deleting a clip you already have never counts again. A capture that fails before it is finalized is not counted, and a retry of the same capture cannot be counted twice.
The free trial includes 10 clips in total across its 7 days. Pro includes 40 clips and Ultra includes 200 clips per billing period.
A billing period is the period Stripe bills you for, which starts on the day you subscribe and renews monthly on that day. Allowances follow that period, not the calendar month.
No. Each successful renewal starts a fresh allowance and unused clips from the previous period expire. Cancelling and resubscribing does not create a second bucket either.
The trial and Pro apply the TradeClip watermark to every export, whether it is a one-click export, a layout export, an automatic export after a trade, an export from the editor, a cloud render or an export of a recovered clip. Ultra exports are clean.
The watermark is applied by the part of the app that renders video and by the cloud renderer, not by a setting in the interface, so it cannot be switched off on a plan that requires it.
New captures stop being counted and recorded until your allowance resets or you upgrade. Everything else keeps working: your library, editing, exporting clips you already have, and cloud sync for existing clips.
TradeClip warns you at 80% of a paid allowance and again when it is used up, and on the trial it warns you at 8 of 10 clips.
Upgrading from Pro to Ultra takes effect immediately. Stripe charges a prorated amount for the rest of the current period, your cap for that period becomes 200 clips, and the clips you have already used stay counted; you do not get a second full allowance.
Downgrading from Ultra to Pro takes effect at the start of your next billing period, so you keep what you paid for until then.
No. Clips recorded before you created an account stay on your computer, remain fully usable and are never counted against a trial or paid allowance. Uploading them to your cloud library, if you choose to, does not count either.
Cloud renders from Ultra subscribers go through a separate priority queue on our servers, with reserved capacity. Pro includes 10 cloud renders per monthly billing period in the standard queue. The trial does not include cloud rendering.
When Pro uses its cloud render allowance, exports default to local rendering until the next billing period. Ultra priority rendering is subject to available capacity. Local export is available on every plan. Upload speed, queue load, clip length and quality affect completion time.
04
Licence and device changes
How the licence key works, moving to a new computer and what to do if one is lost.
A paid subscription comes with a licence key bound to your account. It is emailed to you once when it is issued and you enter it once in the app on the computer you want to use. After that the dashboard shows only a masked form of the key, and support cannot see the full key either.
Keys look like TC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Case and separators do not matter when you type one in.
A licence can be active on one installation at a time. You can move it between computers yourself, and the clips on any computer stay readable whether or not that computer is the active one.
If you still have the old computer, open Settings in the dashboard or the app and deactivate this computer. Then sign in on the new computer and enter your key. Self-service deactivation is rate-limited and recorded in your account history.
If you no longer have access to the old computer, ask support for a licence reset instead.
Open a licence-reset request from the dashboard or by email. Support checks that the account is yours and that the request is not part of an abuse pattern, then revokes the old activation, permanently retires the old key and issues a replacement key with a record of which key it replaced.
The replacement key is emailed to you once and shown once in the dashboard. The old key can never be redeemed again, even by you, which is what keeps a shared or leaked key from being reused.
The key is active on another installation. If that is a computer you still have, deactivate it there and try again. If it is not, request a licence reset so a new key can be issued.
Never share a key. Sharing, selling or publishing one is a breach of the Terms and leads to revocation.
No. The trial entitlement is attached to your account, so signing in on this computer is enough. A key is only issued when you subscribe.
No. The key stays claimed on your installation. A failed renewal pauses paid features after the grace period, and a successful payment restores them on the same installation without a new key.
Yes, for a bounded time. The app keeps a signed copy of your plan and remaining allowance so it can record for up to 72 hours without reaching our servers. It shows the exact time at which it needs to go online again.
While offline it never records more clips than the allowance it last confirmed, and when it reconnects it reports the clips it recorded. Turning the clock back or tampering with the stored credential ends offline recording rather than granting more clips. Clips you recorded stay readable in every case.
05
Cloud sync, privacy and storage
What leaves this computer, what never does, where it is stored and how deletion works.
No. Cloud sync is off when you create an account. When you turn it on, TradeClip shows a dialog that lists exactly what will be sent, and the same list is in the Privacy Policy. You can turn it off again at any time; clips already uploaded stay in your cloud library until you delete them.
The finished clip video, a thumbnail, the trade facts TradeClip read from your screen (ticker, direction, open and close times, profit or loss, with a flag for values that were unknown), the clip's length, resolution and format, any title, notes or tags you add, and any exports you ask us to render in the cloud together with the edit description needed to render them.
Never sent: the live recording buffer or anything captured before a clip is finished, webcam or microphone tracks unless you separately turn that on, and file paths, folder names, user names or anything else from this computer that is not part of the clip.
In a private Google Cloud Storage bucket in the United States (us-east1), encrypted at rest, under an opaque account identifier; object names never contain your email or username. Access is only through short-lived signed links created after we check that you are signed in and own the clip. There are no permanent public links.
Only you can see your clips. Support can see that a clip exists, its state and size, and can open a clip's content only when you ask for help with that specific clip, with each access recorded against the ticket.
Only an opaque clip identifier, a reservation identifier and the capture time. The clip-count request never includes the ticker, direction, profit or loss, or any video, even with cloud sync on. Clip details reach our servers through cloud sync or cloud rendering, after you enable the relevant setting.
Remove from this computer moves the clip's files to your system Trash and leaves any cloud copy untouched. Delete cloud copy removes the clip from your cloud library at once and from our servers within 24 hours, while the copy on this computer stays. Delete everywhere does both after one confirmation.
Cloud deletion cannot be undone. Deleting a clip never refunds the clip against your allowance, because the allowance counts captures, not stored files.
They are kept for 30 days after your plan ends and then deleted. We email you before that happens, and subscribing again within the 30 days keeps them. Clips on this computer are never touched.
The desktop app contains no third-party analytics or advertising code, and we use none on the sign-in, verification, password-reset or dashboard pages. We do not sell your data, show ads, share your clips with other customers or use them to train models.
Yes, if you want to. On first sign-in TradeClip asks whether to include existing clips in cloud sync and shows how many there are and roughly how much would be uploaded. Uploading them does not use your clip allowance, and leaving them local is always fine.
06
Billing, cancellation and refunds
How payment works, what happens when you cancel, and the refund and failed-payment rules.
Pro is $14.99 per month and Ultra is $35.99 per month, in US dollars, plus applicable tax. You choose a plan from the dashboard after signing in; checkout runs on Stripe, which holds your card details. We never see your full card number.
Your card is charged when you subscribe and then monthly on the same day. Stripe sends invoices and receipts; TradeClip sends plan and account notices.
Open Billing in the dashboard and choose Manage billing; it opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: you keep your plan's features and remaining clips until then, are not charged again, and can undo the cancellation before the period ends.
After the period ends, new captures, uploads and cloud renders stop. Everything on this computer stays yours. A cancelled subscription is not reactivated later; subscribing again starts a new one.
Because the free trial lets you evaluate TradeClip before paying and each billing period starts a fresh allowance, subscription payments are not refundable, with three exceptions: where the law where you live gives you a right to one, where we failed to provide the service for a substantial part of the period and could not fix it, and at our reasonable discretion for things like a duplicate charge if you contact us within 14 days of the charge.
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. A refund and a cancellation are separate decisions, and we tell you which applies.
You enter a 7-day grace period. During it you can keep recording under your plan, but cloud renders are paused until payment succeeds. Stripe retries the card and we email you; you can update the card from Billing at any time.
If payment has not succeeded when the grace period ends, paid features stop until you pay: new captures, uploads and renders are blocked. Your local files are unaffected, and paying restores access on the same installation without a new licence key.
Yes, from Billing in the dashboard. Upgrades are immediate and prorated; downgrades apply at the start of the next billing period.
Stripe emails a receipt for every payment and refund, and the billing portal (Billing, then Manage billing) lists every invoice. Your billing email at Stripe is separate from your TradeClip sign-in email; changing one does not change the other.
No. Prices are shown excluding tax ($14.99 and $35.99 per month). Applicable sales tax, VAT or GST is calculated and shown at checkout based on your billing address.
Not at launch. Both paid plans are billed monthly. If annual pricing is introduced it will appear on the pricing page with its own price; there is no hidden annual option.
While a dispute is open we suspend new paid actions (captures, uploads and renders) and preserve your local files. If the dispute is resolved in your favour and the subscription remains payable, access is restored; if it is resolved against you, the subscription ends. Contacting support first is usually faster than a chargeback.
07
Recovery and support
Reaching support, recovering access, and the controls you have over your account and data.
Email support@terratrade.app from the address on your account, or open a ticket from the dashboard when you are signed in. Include the email on your account, the app version and operating system, what you expected, what happened, and any request or ticket ID the app or website showed you.
Never include your password or your full licence key; support will never ask for either. Ultra subscribers receive priority handling.
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. If the address has an account we email a one-time link that expires quickly; the response is the same either way so the form cannot be used to check whether an address is registered. Choosing a new password signs out every other session and sends you a confirmation email.
In Settings, confirm your password and enter the new address. We send a verification link to the new address and a notice to the old one; your old address keeps working for sign-in until the new one is verified. Your Stripe billing email is separate and is changed from the billing portal.
Settings lists your active sessions with the client type, operating system and when each was last used. You can revoke a single session or sign out everywhere. Changing your password also signs out every other session.
In Settings, confirm your password and choose Delete account. Deletion is scheduled 14 days later so you can change your mind; during that time your other sessions are signed out, new captures and uploads are blocked, and you can still export your data. Cancelling within the 14 days leaves everything in place.
When the period ends we cancel any subscription, delete your cloud clips, sessions, tickets and licence records, and remove your email, name and username. Financial records, the security log and a one-way fingerprint of your email (which stops the free trial being reused) are kept, as the Privacy Policy explains. Nothing on this computer is ever deleted by us.
Yes. Settings has Export personal data, which produces a machine-readable file of your account data, and your cloud clips can be downloaded from the library. Clips on this computer are ordinary files in your clips folder.
You open a licence-reset ticket and tell us why (new computer, reinstall, lost or stolen device). A support person reviews the account, the request history and any risk signals; a ticket cannot change a licence by itself. If approved, the old activation is revoked, the old key is marked replaced and a new key is issued with a record of which key it replaced, and every step is written to an audit log you can ask about.
You receive the ticket update and a security notice by email, and the new key is delivered once. Repeated or unusual reset requests are escalated rather than approved automatically.
Email support@terratrade.app with Security in the subject line and as much detail as you can safely share. Please do not test against other customers' accounts or data. We acknowledge reports and keep you informed while we fix the issue.
